Select Group: four companies, four websites, one partner
Select Group is a US group of four companies working in storage, trailers, transportation and construction. Each company has its own customers and its own brand, and each needed its own website.
Sythera Labs built all four, and stayed on as the group’s technical partner.
The challenge
A group with four businesses has a choice: hire a different vendor for each site and manage four relationships, or find one team that can learn the whole group and build each site for its own audience.
The companies are related but not alike. Someone renting storage space, someone looking for a trailer, a shipper booking freight and a client commissioning a building are four different visitors with four different questions.
What we built
One website per company, each designed around what its own customers need to do.
- Urbania: the construction company’s site, with a custom CMS.
- Select Flex: the storage company’s site.
- Select Trucking: the transportation company’s site, presenting its services, fleet and gallery.
- Select Trailer: the trailer company’s site.
A CMS so Urbania can publish without us
A construction company’s best sales material is its own work, and that work changes every week. For Urbania we built a custom content management system that lets their team publish projects, photos and status updates on their own, without asking a developer.
It is a small piece of software with a clear job: keep the site current without adding a step to anyone’s day.
Why one partner
With one team across the group, what we learn building for one company carries over to the next. The group has a single point of contact for all four sites, and each new request starts from context rather than from zero.
We are a bilingual team in Guadalajara, Mexico, working in US time zones, which keeps day-to-day communication with a US client simple.
